41 (City of porirua)
Squadron
41 (Kapi-Mana) Squadron was formed in 1980 in Porirua and over
the past 28 years has paraded in several locations around Porirua
City. The Squadron is currently parading in the Ngati Toa Domain,
in the TS Taupo Sea Cadet building.
On the 28th May 2005 the Squadron was officially renamed 41 (City
of Porirua) Squadron, in honor of the Squadron's 25th birthday and
freedom to the city was granted by the Porirua City Council.
The Air Training Corps (ATC) conducts a 3-year training cycle taking
cadets from basic level knowledge through to advanced level knowledge
in area's such as:
- Adventure Training (camping, tramping, map reading, radio skills)
- Aviation Studies
- First Aid
- Drill and Service Training
- Leadership Training
- Instructional Training
- Firearms Safety and Target Shooting
There are also opportunities in the Squadron for cadets to take
part in:
- Flying Scholarships and Camps
- Military Base Visits
- Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
- Promotional Courses
- The Air Force Experience Scheme
- Local, Area and National Bushcraft Camps
Activities in 2009 included:
- Masterton Airshow
- Gliding & Power Flying
- Target Shooting in Local, National and Commonwealth Shooting

Leader Courses)
